what would joni mitchell do?

these are wheatpasted all over Queen Street West in toronto. i would like to think this is street art, but my gut tells me this is a teaser campaign for a new album release from Canada’s loveliest blonde.
but to answer this WWJMD question, i’d have to say, “hunt down and kill the big yellow taxi that took off with my old man.”
surely those were the original lyrics, non?
if you got some insider info on these cryptic posters, fill a sistah in.

Hi Christine!
Are those your photos? If so, I hope you won’t mind that I’ve reblogged them on my blog, designKULTUR (thanks!). I think I’ve uncovered some of the mystery of What Joni Would Do – check it out. Cheers from Vancouver, Michael
PS Miss T.O. and love the name of your blog!

Hi Michael,
I’ve visited your wordpress blog, and I find it kind of difficult to navigate, but from what I can deduce, it’s an advertising/pr/marketing company that is behind the WWJMD posters. I haven’t found any posts on there where you “reblogged” the photos that I took, as you say. Can you please send me those links? If you haven’t actually reblogged it, those are indeed my photos, and I would appreciate photo credits when you do “reblog.”
So what is the deal behind the WWJMD posters? Does it have something to do with greenpeace?

Hello Christine -
Sorry about that – here’s the link:
http://designkultur.wordpress.com/2011/10/22/street-art-seen-in-t-o-wwjmd-%C2%BBwhat-would-joni-mitchell-do%C2%AB/
When you checked, the post hadn’t been published yet.
It’s now at the top of my home page, with a photo of the poster on the sidebar on the left.
Thanks for spotting the posters and taking such great photos of them!
Hope you like the post.
Cheers,
Michael

Hey!
The mystery of the WWJMD? posters solved. Cecila Berkovich, an artist from Toronto made the posters for Nuit Blanche 2011. A take on the What Would Neil Young Do? Posters. They were an installation that took place at my store, Common Sort in Parkdale. They are free and we still have some. So come by the west end location, while quantities last.

Hi, I am Agustina from Argentina. I just wanted to know if I could still get myself one of these posters. I am a huge fan from JM, and we don´t have any of her stuff here in my country. So please do let me know if there was any possibility of sending me one by mail. Here´s my e-mail in case you´d like to contact me pro-mundo@hotmail.com
Trank you,
Agustina.
