Wanted: another reason to bomb the Middle East
first i found it at college and dufferin in white …
then it was at college and ossington in black.
i don’t know who the artist is behind these stencils, but this really hits home for me. unlike most people who wax philosophical about middle eastern conflicts and what they think should be done there, i have actually been to the middle east.
there are those who have an “us or them” mentality about this. but there is no “us or them,” there is only “we.” and WE do not want war. we love our kids. we want them to grow up safe and have a nice, warm loving home. we want them to go to school. we want to live in peace.

Interesting stencil and great text – thanks for sharing.

Biggest problem I have with this is that I just can’t tell if the artist is being sarcastic or ironic, or is actually in search of reasons to drop bombs on other human beings. I’d like to assume the former, but I just don’t know. So as political art, this is a major fail. And that’s too bad because they’re obviously talented.

hmmm, interesting thoughts, bob. I just automatically assumed the artist was being facetious, since it seems western governments will jump at any chance to bomb the middle east….
