Roa’s decaying animals excite me

i found this Roa at Welling Court in Queens, and I had no idea it was there! I went to Welling Court specifically to photograph the mural project, but I’m pretty sure Roa wasn’t taking part in this year’s project. This was away from all the murals too, it was tucked behind an auto shop. I couldn’t even get near it because it was behind an automatic gate that was 10 feet tall. So  no hopping fences for this lil lass (for  now….).

I have photographed a lot of Roa’s decaying animals in Brooklyn before… and guess which of his pieces are still there… and haven’t been touched or tagged in the slightest?

you guess correctly grasshopper.

I photographed this piece in March 2011 in Williamsburg and I took this above pic the other day. Still there! Still unblemished! this is unheard of!

and this Roa that i photographed back in December on Vandervoort in Bushwick …. still there! although someone has tagged a face coming out of the tail …. which i kind of adore.

adorbs.

love you Roa!

  1. You should see the one we have here in Miami; the mural is just in front of a taxidermy store. I find this kind of satirical
